Whale spout....

Gabi is sporting what I call the whale spout hairdo. Liz if you are reading this...I still want to come over and make bows...I just caved and bought some but I still want more:) Yes her hair is messy but this was as good as I could do with a squirmy little girl. Enjoy.

Ok this post is for all of you who complain and come up to me and ask if I am "too busy to update my blog" (you know who you are, there are several of you!)

Let me first say that I do not appreciate this kind of badgering...I will update when I feel like it! J/K

I do have something to post about today, but it is not about Gabi....sorry family.

It is about how excited I am for the new Indiana Jones movie! Jack and I have free movie tickets (Thanks Mom and Dad). I have decided we will use them to see this movie. But FIRST we had to bring Jack up to speed. Yes, he had never seen the Indiana Jones movies, bits and pieces but not all the way through. He had also never seen Princess Bride when we got married but I had never seen Red Dawn so I guess we were even...

I borrowed the 3 Indiana Jones movies from my cousin and we watched the first one last night. We will most likely finish the rest before Memorial day and then sometime find someone to watch Gabi and go and watch #4. This movie brings back fun child hood memories of me and my brother reenacting the movie... good times.

The last movie I saw in the theaters was Hairspray...and I don't remember the last movie Jack and I saw together so I think it is about time!

Talking already???

I am sure that this wasn't entirely real but it was still cute....

Gabi had been up for a few hours this morning and I decided to and make her a bottle. Usually when we walk around I talk to her about what we are going to do, where we are going to go, etc. Today I was thinking about something else so I wasn't saying anything. I had her in one arm and the bottle out of sight in the other hand. As we are going down the hall she looks at me and says:
Gabi: "Mah"
I looked at her and said "Yes?"
(pause)
Gabi: "Ba ba"

I said "That's right Gabi we are going to get you a bottle"

And there you have it folks my child can talk in small sentences. Genius! LOL. I'm sure it's just a fluke but it was funny, and I called Jack to gloat about our braniac child.

She also recently started waiving bye bye....with some coaching. Next thing you know she'll be quoting Shakespeare.

First steps

Gabi has taken her first steps! She takes two at a time towards me or Jack. Super cute! We will try to take a decent video...

Happy Leap Day!!

Call me crazy but I always get excited when leap day comes around. I don't really know why. I should do something exciting and memorable today but sadly I am starting to get sick and Gabi is just getting over being sick herself :( On that note...Happy Leap Day!

Happy Valentine's Day

Where did you meet? online....later it was in person at the airport.

What was the first thing you said to each other? Hi

Where was your first date? Salt Lake City/ Lehi. Our first date was supposed to be for the Lehi Rodeo, but he said he couldn't wait to see me until then so I went up sooner. First, he picked me up at the airport. We then went to the church office building where he is grandma worked, met her and then looked out over the city on top of that building. Then we drove to Lehi where I met his family. Next, we went to a driving range and then a movie (The Sum of all Fears). After that we had dinner with his family and then went to a park to talk. Then he took me home...to the airport.

Who said "I love you" first? Jack did. It was our second date, a week later. We were at the Crossroads Mall food court having shakes and he said " I love you"... I changed the subject.

Where was your first kiss? After we went to the Lehi Rodeo (about 3 or 4 weeks after the first date) we went back to his parents' place and sat out on the tramp under the stars.

Who proposed? Jack did. I had pretty much figured out when it would be because I knew that he already had the ring. I was going to spend time with his family at the cabin. After he picked me from the airport we drove to the cabin and he drove to the top of the mountian(the highest place you could drive to in Utah) and said that he wanted me to take a picture of the scenery (I love to take pictures). I went to take a picture but there was no film in the camera. I opened it and inside was a ring! He proposed, we kissed and drove to the cabin listening to the Beatles 1 cd in the car.

Did you have a short or long engagement? Short. We met at the end of May got engaged in August and married at the end of December. Although we started talking about getting married after week two of dating...crazy

Where did you get engaged? Top of the Mirror Lake Highway.

Where were you married? Mesa Arizona Temple...AKA the Lamanite Temple for you oldies.

How did the reception go? Beautiful ...it was a forest of pinetrees. My dear mother and her friends planned it all. I had honestly never thought about my wedding ring , dress or day. Since then....I have!:)

How was the honeymoon? Lets see if you consider what we did after getting married...not too exciting...we drove to UT and started life, school work and all that goes with it. The actual honeymoon was taken 8mo later after we saved to buy tickets to spend 17 days in Spain...I want to go back before my passport expires.

How long have you been married? 5 years and counting!
How old are each of you? Jack just turned 26 I am 25.
Who eats more? Jack..although I can put my own as well.
Who is taller? Jack 5'11" me 5'3"
Who sings better? Uh hello yeah duh me...Jack does a fair job though, especially if I sing his part with him.:)
Who is smarter? That would be Jack
Whose temper is worse? Uh no contest it's me
Who does the laundry?. Most of the time I do but Jack has been known to do some as well!
Who does the dishes? Most of the time I do but Jack has been known to do some as well!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?. It varies depending on how the bed is. Jack always sleeps closest to the door. We have tried to switch and no one gets any sleep.
Who pays the bills? Both of us, but transitioning to just me
Who mows the lawn?Hmm if we had a lawn it would be Jack
Who cooks dinner? Me! I love to cook!
Who drives when you are together? Always Jack
Who is more stubborn? I would have to say MEEEEEEEEEEE
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I think that this is me also although Jack will tell you it is him WAY more times than it is me.
Whose parents do you visit most? It depends where we are living, whomever lives in the state that we do gets visited more often.
Who has more friends? It is a toss up
Who has more siblings? Uh that would be Jack...ask him to draw you his family tree sometime :) Bring some popcorn you could be there a while!
Who wears the pants in the family? Jack...although with some hemming and taking in they could fit me too :)
